On Wednesday 29 July, the Isle Martin Trust is delighted to welcome families, nature lovers and anyone with a curiosity about the natural world to a fun, hands on BioBlitz, delivered in partnership with Ulluminate.
A BioBlitz is a friendly citizen science event where people work together to discover and record as many different species as possible in a single day. You don’t need any experience, just a sense of curiosity and a willingness to explore. Volunteers will be on hand throughout the event to help identify plants, birds, insects and other fascinating wildlife, while also showing you how your discoveries can contribute to our understanding of Isle Martin’s unique natural environment.
We’re delighted to be welcoming Ulluminate, a community interest company founded by local residents of Ullapool and Lochbroom. Bringing together people with backgrounds spanning science, the arts and the environment, they celebrate the connections between scientific discovery, creativity and the natural world.
Whether you’re bringing children for an afternoon of adventure, want to learn more about the island’s biodiversity, or simply fancy spending a summer evening outdoors, the BioBlitz promises something for everyone. After exploring, there will be time to relax around the fire, enjoy a barbecue and chat with fellow participants.
