Join us on Isle Martin

To celebrate the return of the Herring to our coastal waters

on Sunday 7th July

 

Discover the island’s 250 year Herring history and the first fishing station in Loch Broom, 13 years before the founding of Ullapool and hear the story of Isle Martin Herring station and its amazing buildings, by taking a guided walk/talk with local archaeologist Cathy Dagg.

See fishy films about our local ecosystems that support the local Herring population and recording the herring’s recent return to former breeding grounds, giving hope for the future of this iconic fish and the health of our seas.

Have some fishy fun creating a shoal of  herring with local artists Lesley Strachan & Julia Barton.
